Reporter and Camera Operator, Milan, Italy (October 2019 - Present)

On assignment for agency and broadcast clients, I have shot, edited and produced packages during the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy. In addition to shooting, I did live TV reports and two way interviews in English from Milan and Bergamo. I covered the crisis from hospitals, filming in intensive care units at the peak of the virus, interviewing doctors on the frontline, survivors and bereaved families in both English and Italian. Prior to the European outbreak of the virus in February 2020, I worked on a number of stories including record levels of flooding in Venice, the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland and UEFA Champions League football across Northern Italy.

Duties included conducting interviews, planning and executing television package features and responding to breaking news. The role involved filming, editing and producing from the field and on the editorial desk. I reported on camera and edited video packages for the Reuters TV App. As a multimedia journalist I worked closely with and filed for the Reuters text and picture wires, and have had work published by the world’s top media outlets. The job involved traveling at short notice. I reported on stories across the world from the field including: Climate Change in the Arctic, the 2015 Migrant Crisis, British General Elections, Brexit, NATO Military Exercises on the Black Sea, the 2016 U.S Election Final Debate in Las Vegas, Mass Protests in Romania, a Papal Visit and Multiple International Elections and Referenda.
